The Art Centre was established by Ngurratjuta / Pmara Ntjarra Aboriginal Corporation to provide a place for Aboriginal artists to enjoy a creative activity, paint and share stories and ideas. Founded by Marilyn Armstrong in 2003, the second mission was to rejuvenate the watercolour movement initiated by Albert Namatjira nowadays called the ‘Hermannsburg School of Art’.
We endeavor to create a caring environment where ALL artists can achieve personal satisfaction, improve their self esteem and gain financial rewards. We are also dedicated in our efforts to encourage the grand children and great grandchildren of Albert Namatjira to continue the “Hermannsburg School of Art.”
